For sliding gates, the gate width should generally be 100mm–200mm wider than the actual opening gap to allow proper overlap and installation clearance.

If your driveway opening is 4000mm, the recommended sliding gate size would usually be approximately 4100mm–4200mm.

For swing gates, the total gate width should generally be approximately 50mm smaller than the actual opening gap to allow proper hinge clearance and smooth operation.

Example:
If your opening gap is 4000mm, the recommended swing gate size would usually be around 3950mm.
